North American Tunneling Conference 2014

UCA of SME is proud to host the 2014 NAT conference in Los Angeles, CA, June 22-25, 2014, at the JW Marriott at LA Live. With 162 booths in the exhibit hall, 20 technical sessions and several social functions and short courses over three days, this conference promises to deliver the latest trends and updates in the tunneling industry. Registration will open on Tuesday, April 1, 2014. Be sure to register by May 27, 2014 to take advantage of the early bird registration rates.

Draft DOT tunnel maintenance manuals available

To support the National Tunnel Inspection Standards, the DOT will be publishing two documents: (1) the Tunnel Operations, Maintenance, Inspection and Evaluation (TOMIE) manual and (2) the Specifications for the National Tunnel Inventory (similar to the bridge coding guide but for tunnels). Drafts of those documents can be viewed on the DOT website: www.fhwa.dot.gov/bridge/tunnel.
