| Extraction 2018 Opens Call for Abstracts |
| With the new Extraction conference series, three leading societies in extractive metallurgy have collaborated to organize popular recurring symposia, develop new programming topics, and offer an array of networking events within one comprehensive meeting with a single registration fee. Extraction 2018, the inaugural installment in the series, is now accepting abstracts. Organized by SME, the Metallurgy and Materials Society (MetSoc) of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM), and the Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS), Extraction 2018 will be held August 26–29, 2018, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
