Student Chapter Start-Up
Upon obtaining official student chapter status, the student chapter receives $75 to assist with the initial conduct of its business.
Student Chapter Travel Allowance
A travel allowance for SME Student Members who have traveled to SME meetings is available to each SME Student Chapter. The allowance is 15¢ per mile per SME Student Member, with a maximum of $1,000 per Student Chapter per academic year with receipts and submission of a student chapter annual report. To receive the allowance, a Student Member Travel Report must be completed following attendance at an SME meeting and returned to SME headquarters no later than May 1.
NOTE: This program may not be available in certain years. Please check with SME Education Coordinator Mona Vandervoort, vandervoort@smenet.org, before making travel arrangements.
